I have the exact same router as you do by the way, using the latest firmeware version dwa-5556. Has anyone out there managed to get this card to work under windows 7 x64???
My reply to this post is to help those people who are about to get the card. The you should have full signal, else your having other troubles.
The computer browser service is used primarily to be backwards compatible with pre-Windows XP systems. How I fixed this problem was to unplug the adaptor from the USB port, uninstall the Dlink software through add-remove programs and uninstalled the driver from the device manger.
